« Expressing someone else’s ideas in my own language is not something I take lightly. A translation must be tended to and nurtured, just like the original. ”

In the mid-eighties, Sarah thought she was on her way to a career in the British Diplomatic Service—she had studied French, Spanish, and Portuguese at university and had lived in France, Senegal, and Haiti. But life sometimes throws you a curve. In her case, it was marriage, a move to the USA, and motherhood.

But there came a day when Sarah was ready to re-engage, so she earned a graduate certificate in translation from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and returned to work, first as a freelancer, then as a full-time employee of a Florida- and France-based agency. She also began going to every American Translators Association conference, where she got to know Anglocom through the training seminars she attended.

Today the stars have aligned and Sarah is a full-time Anglocom translator, applying her tremendous talents and extensive knowledge of American and UK English for the benefit of our clients.
