« I think I was born to be a translator. It’s the kind of job I feel motivated to be my very best at. ”

There were a lot of things that impressed us about Karina when she first applied to work at Anglocom. Her B.A. and master’s degrees in translation, for one. Her past involvement in Langulaire, the student translation agency at Laval University, for another. And the obvious professionalism she took in everything she did. But when we invited her in for a chat and had her take an exam, she really blew us away. Such talent and poise in such a young and energetic woman!

After finishing her studies, Karina left her home town of Quebec City to work in Montreal as a translator for the Hudson’s Bay Company. But after three years in the big city, she was yearning for a return home, and we were more than happy to oblige—particularly considering all the practice and experience she had acquired along the way. Karina joined the Anglocom French language team in January 2008.

When not delighting clients with her fluid, idiomatic French, Karina likes to travel the world, visiting exotic locales like Tanzania, Egypt, and Iceland.
