At the invitation of Quebec’s Ordre des traducteurs, terminologues et interprètes agréés (OTTIAQ), Anglocom president Grant Hamilton will be leading a three-hour training session on Thursday, March 8, 2018, entitled “The Writerly Translator.” This is Mr. Hamilton’s second time presenting the session, which he originally gave at the Translate in Quebec City conference in July 2017.

The workshop is to help translators spot weaknesses in their texts and take corrective action. It will take a writerly look at substandard English translations and identify through group discussions what is causing the problems. Participants will take away a checklist of items to be on the watch for in their own work.

The training session will be given at the OTTIAQ office at 2021 Avenue Union, Suite 1108, Montreal (McGill metro station). Register here.
